There are many brands, but this is the one that seems to be most readily available in the UK. Made of a self adhesive-backed, foil-faced butyl rubber, these mats, when stuck to the bare panels of the van, are designed to absorb the vibrations caused by sound or movement, and so make the van quieter.

I bought the 40 sheet, 4m² bulk pack of Silent Coat, working on the basis of heavy coverage of the wheel arches, but only about 25% coverage for the main body panels.

This was one of the first jobs we did on the van.
